THE CONNECTED FSEI LECTURER

THE CONNECTED FSEI LECTURER:
Publication Activity Toward Ranking University for IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon
by: Aan Jaelani

Introduction
The international and national science citation indices contained in the bibliographic descriptions of articles and reference lists are used in the bibliometric analysis. Evaluation of the publication activity in IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon’s Smart Campus practice began fairly recently in 2016.
Data sourced from international citation databases, such as Google Scholar Citation (Google Cendekia), Research Gate, Academia.Edu, and others have shown activity IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon's lecturer (less than 5%) in conducting scientific publications (see https://fseiiaincirebon.blogspot.co.id/). Scientific publication is the result of research or thought of lecturers reproduced or disseminated through books, articles in scientific journals, and proceedings, then cited and indexed by the international citation databases, or as standardized by Kemenristek & Dikti RI in the assessment of scientific work of lecturers for promotion or academic position (see Dikti, Pedoman Operasional PAK Dosen 2014).
The latest information released by Google Scholar Citations (2016), from page webometric (http://www.webometrics.info), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta managed to record rank 6 on the measurement of Google Scholar Citations to college national scale (sequentially: UGM, ITB, UPI, UI, Undip, UIN Jakarta, Unbraw, ITS, IPB, and Unpad); or ranked 1 in the PTKIN Kemenag RI. Google Scholar aims to rank documents the way researchers do, weighing the full text of each document, where it was published, who it was written by, as well as how often and how recently it has been cited in other scholarly literature (https://scholar.google.co.id/intl/en/scholar/about.html).
How the activity of scientific publications by lecturers at IAIN Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon, especially in the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Economy? Where we gain open access to the work it? Where we can also get it through the international citation databases, as well as to obtain articles or references to international university libraries freely?. This article as an introduction to position the importance of scientific publications indexed for lecturers in international citation databases and efforts to raise the ranking of IAIN Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon at national and international levels.

Lecturer/Researcher Profile as Global Trends in Publication Activity
The basic indicator of publication activity is the number of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (M.N. Kotsemir, 2012). Activities of this publication will be indexed by a number of international citation databases, both articles, and journals, such as Google Scholar, Academia.edu, ResearchGate, RePEc, DOAJ, Copernicus, Web of Science, Microsoft Academic Search, and Scopus. For scientific journals will be assessed impact factors via ISI Web of Science (Thomson Reuters), or Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) (see Dikti, Pedoman Operasional PAK Dosen 2014).
The analysis of the university’s (department or faculty) research potential is based on indicators for individual researchers. The following key indicators were selected: (1) total number of publications (example in Google Scholar, Scopus), (2) total number of citations, (3) Hirsch index, (4) average number of citations per publications, (5) share of self-citation and citation by co-authors, and (6) share of publications without citation.
One of the global trends in a scientific publication are professors, lecturers, or researchers created a personal profile on the international citation databases, such as Google Scholar Profile, ORCID ID, RePEc ID, SSRN ID, SCOPUS ID, Academia.edu, ResearchGate, and others. Your researcher profile is an individual internet profile that provides a user-friendly and efficient way of showcasing your work. Having a unique profile: showcases your work to the world, manages your publications list, helps to be identified by potential collaborators, helps to avoid misidentification, enables your research output to be attributed to IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, tracks citation counts, enhances your researcher profile page by including a link to other profiles.

Researcher or Lecturer Profile

..
Researcher or Lecturer Profile is one of the most important factors in getting your work noticed, read, and cited is accessibility. You need to make it as easy as possible for people to find your work. Researcher Profile tools among others:
ORCID (Open Researcher & Contributor ID) or “KTP Author” is an open, non-profit, community-based effort to create and maintain a registry of unique researcher identifiers. The ORCID Registry is available free of charge to individuals, who may obtain an ORCID, manage their record of activities, and search for others in the Registry.  Researchers can import their existing publications indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and others, to their ORCID ID via the "Import Research Activities" link in their ORCID record (see http://orcid.org/). For example, Aan Jaelani Profile in ORCID ID, http://orcid.org/0000-0003-2593-7134.
ResearcherID (Web of Science). Create and manage a professional profile, build an online publication list, measure performance with cited counts and h-index. Your profile can incorporate data and metrics from Web of Knowledge and from other sources. For example, Jamali Sahrodi Profile in ResearcherID, http://www.researcherid.com/rid/E-7338-2016.
Scopus: Author Identifier. Every author in Scopus is automatically assigned an Author ID number (see https://www.scopus.com/).
Google Scholar.  Search all scholarly literature from one convenient place, explore related works, citations, authors, and publications, locate the complete document through your library or on the web, keep up with recent developments in any area of research, and check who's citing your publications, create a public author profile. Click on My Citations to set up an account and collect all your publications appearing in Google Scholar into your account. For example, Mahrus eL-Mawa Profile in Google Scholar Citation, https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=yX98AyoAAAAJ&hl=id.

International Publication: FSEI on RePEc-MPRA
International publication activities are the dissemination of scientific papers by FSEI lectures on international citation databases, such as RePEc, MPRA (Munich Personal RePEc Archive), SSRN (Social Science Research Network), Academia.edu, ResearchGate, ScienceOPEN, BASE, OPENAIRE, Baidu Scholar, and others, as well as university libraries in Asia, America, and Europe, such as Universität München, University of Munich, Universitat Bielefeld Germany, University of Harvard, University of Houston Texas, Universitat Harnish Pepperdine, University of Chinese (CUHK), University of Waikato, and others.
Some scientific works in Indonesian and English languages were indexed in databases and the part of references in the library. It also serves as a part of the propagation of Islam, introduced Islam Nusantara, culture and travel in Cirebon, and efforts to boost the ranking IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon.
For example, RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 88 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in economics and related sciences. The heart of the project is a decentralized bibliographic database of working papers, journal articles, books, books chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers. The collected data are then used in various services that serve the collected metadata to users or enhance it. So far, over 1,800 archives from 88 countries have contributed about 2 million research pieces from 2,300 journals and 4,300 working paper series. About 46,000 authors have registered and 75,000 email subscriptions are served every week. See below on how you can be part of this initiative (see http://repec.org/).
This RePEc/IDEAS Ranking (from MPRA) provides links to various rankings of research in economics and related fields. This analysis is based on data gathered with the RePEc project, in which publishers self-index their publications and authors create online profiles from the works indexed in RePEc. Citation analysis is performed by the CitEc project, abstract views and paper downloads are counted by the LogEc project, and the various rankings are then established. Rankings are typically updated around the 3rd to 5th day of each month. Some rankings are updated more frequently. All data is experimental. For Indonesia, there are 163 authors affiliated with 48 institutions.
